Best season to elope in the lake region is in the summer months. From mid May to mid October. Due to popularity Lake Como can get very crowded from June and July to September. But there are options, the northern region offers several other scenic lakes such as Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta. Only 1.5 hours by car and less that 2 hours by train from Milan.

Lake Garda can be reached from Milan by train in less than 2 hours.
